Knife craftsman Webb Hammond offers a shop tour on the beautiful Hood Canal in Washington State. From sketching the custom design to the final polish, you can participate in the construction of a hand-forged, steel-blade knife. Techniques covered will include the forging of the high carbon steel blade, grinding, heat-treating, and handle building. A sheath or stand will also be constructed to fit the knife. Choice of handle materials will include elk, deer or stag antler, wood or micarta. Upgrades to Damascus blade or to more exotic handle materials may be negotiated for an added fee. Transportation from and to the SeaTac airport, meals and accommodations are included. All reservations must be made at least 30 days in advance.
